There's this entire storyline where you want to talk the leader of Accord into forming an alliance but this basically amounts to nothing more than a conversation where you can pick up extra special coins. You get to Altissia then what basically amounts to the Deuteragonist of the entire game dies in 10 minutes with the vast majority of their screen time being flashbacks with the main character, then you got to the Capital of the main villains which is weirdly empty, where the evil Emperor has been transformed into a normal enemy for some reason who then just mentions that his main goal is global domination, then its revealed that the main villain was a member of the Royal family, and he wants to kill the entire royal family off, before you kill him, then sacrifice yourself to be with the Deuteragonist. In particular what I suspect was the entire last half of the game is basically just reduced to two dungeons. So I beat the main game of Final Fantasy XV and its incredibly hard to follow the storyline since so much story is dropped. Probably because the game feels its been around most of my life despite it technically only being 5 years old now. I'm weirdly really passionate about FF15. Magic in particular is trash.Really would have preferred the game play similar to how it did in the Duscae demo or even more so the Overture demo.Īlways thought this looked way more fast and snappy than what we got. I could go on and on about the gameplay things that were cut, changed or are just plain flawed by design. Dawn of the Future covers all of this but from how the book describes it, the ending would have wrapped up the story decently. FF15's story ends on this weird note where you don't actually beat the true villain.Near the end of the game you learn Ardyn got fucked over more than anyone in the game by Bahamut. Finally, the cancelled DLC was arguably the most important stuff in the game.

Carbuncle who is in the game is said to watch over noctis as some sort of spiritual guardian but in the base game all he really does is photobomb picture and give free revives on easy mode. This probably played a role in the original concept in which he can speak with the dead. One of the things that for whatever reason got toned down to being almost non existent was Noctis having vivid dreams and people speaking to him in his dreams.

The Platinum Demo should have been in the game or reference.Game starts off as them being friends but you are never told how they met, what they mean to each other. The Brotherhood anime could have been semi-optional cutscenes in the game that you can experience when resting at certain campsites. They give a lot of backstory on the relationships between the party members. It would have added a punch to the ending when you return to a destroyed Insomnia and if done right would have been a really hype way to start the game rather than your car breaking down. Kingsglaive should have been the playable opening couple hours. If I had to put the main thing that really hurt FF15, its the fact that they tried to make it a multi media universe. He at least was very upfront with the development process and kept fans in the know with the Active Time Reports.FF15 was pretty rough at launch but it came out better than it could have been, all things considered. A lot of people give Tabata way too much hate but considering the mess he had to clean up and the stress the dude was probably getting from higher ups since Versus is now a mainline FF. Tabata is then in charge of the project and has to somehow clean up the mess. Then we get the rereveal of Versus now being FF15 which only a few months later they take Nomura off his own final fantasy to work on the FF7 Remake. They had people off of the Versus team go over and help with FF13 on Crystal Tools then move people to help develop the Luminous Engine until they started developing the game at the same time as Luminous. They felt they needed to have their own engine so they make Crystal Tools which is where Versus started and then scrapped and restarted on Luminous. The game is a perfect example of how poor square's management was in that decade. Literally most of my life following the development from all the way back to that original Versus trailer back in 2006. Final Fantasy Versus XIII/ Final Fantasy XV is a game I just can't get over.
